Hi, all.
I deliberated for a bit over where to post this; ultimately, I decided this is probably the most appropriate section, since when I think of tucked-in shirts, I think of pencil skirts and other work attire.
In perusing petite style blogs, I'm always amazed by how bloggers achieve the totally seamless tuck-in effect. Some of you even manage to tuck DRESSES into fitted skirts!
I always end up with the ends of my shirts showing beneath pencil skirts, or bunches under pants, etc.
There must be a secret. . .how do you handle tucking shirts into tighter bottoms?

Thanks, all!

For tops/dresses tucked into skirts, I would reach underneath the skirt and pull at the ends to smooth out the wrinkles and bumps. It gets kind of annoying after repeated bathroom visits throughout the day though :)

Tucking tops into tight pants is trickier, but I just run my hands down each section of my top all around before zipping up my pants.

Sometimes if a shirt is too difficult to tuck, I try the front tuck that I have seen on bloggers. This allows your belt to still get noticed! :)

I do not have any work-related examples, but here is a casual one:

And lots of different style examples from Cee, here (#16 & 21 esp):

In the winter, the tucked-in shirt bunching under skirts can be remedied by tucking it into your pantyhose/tights. Works like a charm. :)

I do like Cee.

For skirts, I'll reach under the skirt and pull the shirt down. For pants, I'll just reach down in there and try my best to pull things smooth before zipping and buttoning up. Then, in the restroom or when no one is looking, I'll slyly re-adjust anything that has wiggled it's way out. ;)

I've been wondering about the tucking-in, too. I rarely look good with things tucked in....maybe it's just my frame - I have a longish ribcage and next to no waist, so I often look boxy when I tuck in. Maybe people have tips for my sort of shape?

Have you tried tucking in your top while wearing an outer layer like a jacket or long cardigan? That's the only way I look good tucked, and similar to you, I look boxy when tucked due to my shorter torso. Might work for you too!

Yes - with jackets. I haven't tried longer cardigans yet - have to find one that's just the right length! This weekend, I also realized that tops about 1/2 too big for me work as well.

For trousers (and also skirts with pockets) have you ever tried putting you hands inside your pockets and pulling the tucked in shirt through the lining? I have and works for me (not all the time :) of course )

Tucking only works for me if the bottom I am wearing is high-waisted. Otherwise, I'm adjusting my clothes all day.
