I was so excited to get this coat in the mail because it looked so beautiful on Bluefly.com! This brand does XXS, so I was doubly excited to see how that would fit. Here is the stock photo from the site:

...and here is how it looks on me:

There are several reasons why I am returning it:

1) The collar is sooo much larger than in the picture - see how in the stock picture it's standing up a little so that less of the collar material is showing? In reality, the collar is not stiff enough to do that, so I have two large flaps for collars.

2) The sleeves are too long, but I was expecting to hem that. What I didn't expect was the tightness in the arms. The coat fits very well around the torso, so well that if it was in another style, I would have considered keeping it. I can wear a light sweater underneath. For reference, I wear a 00P, 0P, XXSP.

3) As you can see, the proportions of the coat are all wrong for this shortie. The coat hits me at the knee and gives the appearance that my legs are shorter than they are. The buttons are spaced for a taller person like the mannequin in the stock picture - see how the lower two are where the tummy is on the mannequin? On me, it is lower. Also, there is something about the flare of the skirt that isn't right.

The only great thing that I can say about this coat is that the wool blend is nice and soft. If you are my size, maybe 2 inches taller, with skinnier arms than I, you may like this coat. It just sadly did not work for me!

I'm liking how small that coat runs! I've heard this brand runs small, but have never seen one in person to try, so thank you for the review!

Good to know that Soia and Kyo can fit petites well if the coat doesn't have so many "tall person" details. :)

No prob! That's why I love this forum - we get to learn from each other's experiences! On a related note, I was in Marshall's and TJ Maxx this morning and they have a TON of Soia and Kyo down coats in stock (I am in NYC - not sure if they stock the same everywhere). The strange thing is that the XS down coats fit perfectly, no need to go down to an XXS. They are long though, so I guesstimate that they are better for someone 5'3" and up.
