I was thinking of adding this versatile skirt to match my theory jackets. It has 2 back vents, but I'm not sure if the zipper is dead center or whether it has straight or curved seams. Has anyone tried this skirt? How does it fit? I'm afraid it'll be a little big on me, as theory pants tend to to a little big on me. But if it's alterable, I might get it anyway. Thoughts?

I am actually going to receive this skirt in a couple of days (ordered). From my experience, Theory skirts tend to run slightly smaller than their pants. I don't need any waist alterations but do need length alteration. The zipper looks to be at the center of the skirt. One of the skirts I have had a 24" waist.

yes please, let us know how it fits when you get it ;) I'm so curious! Good to hear their skirts are little smaller than their pants. It's usually the hips, not the waist that's too big for me...

Got the skirt today. It's actually bigger than I expected. Waist is the same size as Ann Taylor tropical wool pencil skirt in 00p. Length is longer. It isn't lined! Which is the most dissappointing part. Also there are two slits in the back, but if taking the hem up 2-3 inches I am not sure if it'll still look OK. Hmmmm..!

oh and my measurements are ~23 wait, 32/33 hips. 00p Ann Taylor skirts are a little bigger but doable.

OK I had some time to take some pictures :).

It's definitely much bigger, unfortunately, than a normal "00p" (and bigger than other Theory skirts - or maybe that is intended?). The seams are curved. Hopefully the tailor can alter it!

Here is how it looks without any alterations, with heels, without any clips or slips (eek sorry)

Here is how it maybe should look with waist slimmed. (Pinched/Belted)

Here is a comparison with Ann Taylor wool skirt in size 00. It looks to be almost 1" bigger (?!). Also, it isn't lined. But there are two slits.

Thanks for the photos! Let's hope the tailor can alter it. The curve seam is a little tricky, but since it's unlined, maybe it'll be easier? Finger crossed! Still looks great on your bum though!

Hey Prosephina,

Could you tell us how the alterations went? I'm thinking of buying this skirt off ebay in one size bigger than what I normally wear for theory because it's such a good price but I'm scared I won't be able to get the curved seams altered!
