i loved loved my wedding dress!
i am 4' 10" and about 95 lb hi shortstuff! if you don't mind me asking, how much did your amy kuschel drses cost?? my cousin's wife got hers there too, but they had a rather elaborate wedding, so i dare not ask. everyone looks sooo beautiful! it's reassuring to hear that it make take many, many try-ons for dresses until you find the right one. we're putting our deposit down for our venue on wednesday -- that itself is intimidating enough -- and i'm hoping with the venue in place, i can start formulating what i truly want for a dress. i've been trying them on and some look nice, but i don't quite know what i am looking for yet.

Awww I love this thread! I'm kinda late (wish I saw it earlier), but everyone look so beautiful! I'm in the San Francisco Bay area and if there is a bride in this area, I highly reccommend Bay Area Bridal. I went to a lot of bridal salons when I was looking for my dress and my fave was at BA Bridal. What I loved about my experience at Bay Area bridal was the selections, the flexibility, the price, my wonderful bridal consultant, and most importantly the seamstress. Every bride will need to get alterations somehow (whether it's the length or the wide or changing up little details), and it's extremely important that the seamstress knows what she's doing. I had a lot of stuff done to my dress because it was HUGE (even though I ordered a size 0), but in the end, I was pleasantly happy with the work...and I am very picky. Also, if you have any questions and I mean ANY questions at all, Weddingbee.com message board was AMAZING to me. My then fiance and I planned our wedding from across the country and boy we were in for some serious planning (lol). The ladies on this forum were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and quick! So many questions we had were answered there, so if you have any, I say check out the forum. Another great site is Stylemepretty.com. They featured real and amazing weddings (glam, rustic, vintage, classic, you name it, they have it) that's great for inspirations. Getting marry is such a beautiful time of a woman's life, but it can be stressful. If you have any questions re: BA Bridal or the name of the consultant/streamstress, let me know! Here's a pic of my 1st dress after it was cute and trimmed a dozen times...and below is my 2nd dress which was adjusted by the same seamstress. I needed a lot of help with my second dress and 2 places turned me down because of the cut and material but this lady was able to fix it without a problem.

Hello, I have a petite wedding dress to sell, if anyone is interested. I wore it in June 2010 (for a grand total of 4 hours! I also had a reception gown) and it was sent for cleaning and storage the week after. Dress Description:It's in excellent condition, and is an altered Size 2 Vineyard Jane style from Priscilla of Boston's Vineyard line. It's a very simple mermaid silhouette with a sweetheart neckline and faux buttons all the way down the train. It is made from a sturdy ivory silk that holds its shape well (so not drapey) with a couple petticoat layers. Measurements:At the time of my wedding, I was 5'1" and 98 pounds. I wore 1.5 inch heels, so the dress could work for a shorter woman who wants to wear taller heels (say, 4'11" with 3" heels). I am a B cup, but because of the design, that part could certainly be adjusted by a bridal tailor. The actual measurements of the dress are difficult to ascertain, because the back dips down below the bust measurement and the hips are not perfectly fitted. So I will give my measurements: Hips: 37" Waist: 26" Bust: 33" Photos:As you can see, I am a curvy petite, so it would work for someone with that body type very well. You can see the train is fairly long, but not overwhelming, enough to make a statement. It has a three point American bustle. The bust has light scalloped detailing that continues to the back. It is a beautiful dress. Attachment:

If you are interested, please private message me on this forum. I paid $1,800 to the SF Priscilla store for the dress before alterations, but will part with it for $1,100 cash. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, but am willing to ship it to someone who will pay shipping. I have reposted this in the Marketplace: for-sale-priscilla-of-boston-sz-2-ivory-wedding-dress-t1919.htmlGood luck and congrats on your weddings, petite friends, Amanda

hi punksjunk, my dress was $960 (original price $2120). hope that helps! I don't know if Amy Kuschel still does this but when I got my dress, you did not need to make an appt to try sample dresses. i went during the evening right after work and it was nice and quiet. btw - congrats on finding a venue! which venue are you going with? yes, very good idea to first get venue and then plan everything else around that. alot of people who are selling their wedding dresses are people who bought the dress before the venue and now they realize that the dress does not go with the it! punksjunk wrote: shortstuff wrote: i ended up getting my dress from Amy Kuschel in downtown san francisco. she has a sample rack and i was able to find the perfect dress on the sample rack that surprisingly needed minimal alterations and was in excellent condition. i don't have much curves esp not much of a waist but my dress really gave the illusion of a waist.
