Has anyone tried finding a boys' button down which fit in the shoulders and getting that slimmed? I'm thinking of trying, since I have 12-13" shoulders, and even petite lines don't go that slim. I'm small-busted and full-waisted, so I'm more boy-shaped than womanly anyways.

I just compared a Marks & Spencer boys' button-down in size 13Y to a Uniqlo women's in XS, and the boys' shirt is about an inch wider at the shoulders as well as being cut larger overall. A smaller size might work for you, but boys' clothes are usually designed with a loose, boxy fit so it might need to be slimmed by quite a bit.

Also the sleeves on children's clothes tend to be much too short, even for petites. Could be okay if you roll up the cuffs and only wear the shirt that way.

I know this topic is a little old, but I just purchased a Lands End, GIRLS size 10 Oxford shirt for work (see link below).

http://www.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-393684_AH.html?CM_MERCH=Shopping_Cart

It fit surprisingly well. The arms are a little longer than I expected (for a 3/4-sleeve) but it's still comfortable and not restricting at all (a problem I've had with some other shirts). The material is airy but durable and best of all, it was on sale for $10! Can't beat that price!

Talula (Aritzia-house brand) tends to run really tiny -- My blazer in 00 is absolutely lovely. I walked in hoping to have some luck with their classic fit button-down, but nope... XXP is strangely boxy in me. Grr.

I picked one up from J Crew maybe 3 mos ago that shrank down to a reasonable fit. I would slim the sleeves a little if I had the equipment and the time but it is acceptable as is. I think I got it in the XXS Petite. It didn't fit great before washing and drying, but after two rounds of it fit much better.
