Hi~
This is my first time reviewing an item here. I am so excited
I recently purchased the ON chambray shirts. I got the blue chambray in XSP and XS and dark chambray in XS to compare.
The fit:
The petite version is significantly shorter but not much less wide than the reg, making it very boxy ans kid-clothes-like. See attached pics. i took an approx measurement of the XSP and XS:
XS: SS (shoulder-shoulder) 13.5 inch; length 25 inch; chest 18.5 inch
XSP: SS 13.5 inch length 22.5 inch chest 17.5 inch
I am 5 feet and 100lbs. Normally a H&M 2 fits me well. I also can wear the smallest petite size in most petite brands. On me, the XSP shirt is ridiculously short and out of proportion. When I raise my arms, you can see my belly. On the other hand, the XS-Reg fits perhaps 1~1.5 inch too long and 0.5~1 inch too loose. Not too bad! Since the chambray shirt is a more causal piece so I don't care too much about the looseness. I may get it shortened when I get a chance though.
The color:
I liked both colors. The blue chambray is lighter and more denim-like, while the dark chambray is darker and more chambray (see pic) I liked the blue better because I was looking for a denim shirt.
The quality: The fabric is not too thick or thin. The dye/wash and craftsmanship was reasonable for the price. I am not sure how well they stand washing.
Verdict: kept the blue chambray XS-Reg and returned the rest.
BTW, I have also tried on a few versions of chambray and denim shirts from madewell and j crew. I found the xs or 00 always fit loose and long. I did enjoy the wash/craftsmanship better but the higher price plus alteration costs were what stopped me. ON often has promos so it should not be too hard to score this shirt at a bargain price!
