Hello, ladies. Here ar some thoughts after having tried JCrew suiting in petite size. Sorry about the grainy quality of the images. I believe it's time to update my camera. This is the
Petite two button blazer in wool crepePetite wool crepe 1035 trouser
I ordered the jacket in size 00P and the pants in size 0P as I am more heavy on the bottom.
The positive:
* I was very excited to see that the jacket fits perfectly. Even the sleeve length is right, which for me is long on most petite size suiting jackets. The torso fit perfectly.

* The pants fit well enough, they could be taken in about 0.5" at the waist but I don't really feel this is a must. I also tried a 00P pair of pants. Curiously enough the waist size seemed very similar on the two, but those weree tighter in the rear. Still I had no trouble fitting into the 00P. You can see the pants that I tried in 00P in the following picture and also here:
1035 trouser in wool flannel. While the former pants fit best with 2" heels these latter ones were longer, needed 3-4" heels.

The negative:
* This is my first J Crew order ad I had no idea what wool crepe is. I had assumed since it it had the word wool that it would be a thicker fabric and I was disappointed. Also the dark charcoal color is what I would call washed out black. The wool flannel fabric on the other pants I liked much more.
* The pants were unlined. There was some serious panty line issues going on because of this.
* The fit of the 1035 pants is probably best for straight hips (hence not for me

) but I kind of knew this from reviews.
Verdict: will return, but I would seriously consider keeping if the price was lower or the fabric was better.
I am on the fence about the fuchsia top. This is a kids top in silk in size 12. The
Girls snapdragon top was $13.99 and it's 100% silk. It is a bit boxy around the waist and too narrow in the shoulders, although it fits well on my bust. I really like the color (I've been deprived of pink as a child and I am overcompensating in my 20's) and the ruffle detail and believe that under a cardigan or jacket the boxy waist could be tamed. What do you think?
