Hello everyone!
I don't know where to post this but I have a question about the color Heather Majestic Purple from J crew, I recently ordered this color for the Lady day Coat and I was wondering if it is good for a professional look. This is my first overcoat. I was initially deciding between hmp and black and decided to go for hmp. I wanted this coat to wear for the winter, over my pencil skirts(usually dark navy blue/black with a white blouse and black heels), and so I was wonder if (a) would it seem too bright to be professional (in an accounting environment) (b) would it match over my typical attire and (c) is it a classic color?

Thank you!

My first impression is that color should be just fine! Unlike your suits, your coat is taken off during most work hours, so you should have more freedom to have fun with your coat when it comes to style and color.

One thing to consider when purchasing a bright colored coat is that it won't always look good with what you're wearing underneath. I would suggest you also have a more neutral colored coat to switch to, just in case you look in the mirror and don't like the color clashing that's going on with your outfit that day.

i love the colour of the purple! i think it's a great choice for professional attire - i work in a very conservative office setting, and often wear suits. however, i think the profile of the coat makes it quite work appropriate.

you can absolutely have fun with this in the upcoming colder seasons. can you please review it when you get it? i'm in canada, so getting things from the crew is always a bit of a gamble.

I bought a purple Lady Day Coat a few seasons ago and love it. I usually end up wearing neutral bottoms and colored tops so I haven't had much of an issue with color clashing. Bright coats cheer me up in yucky weather!
