Hello everyone! I'm in my early 30s, a former "professional student" who is currently preparing for a non-academic world out there....Which means that I need to develop a more professional wardrobe than the jeans and t-shirts that I'm used to. Hard to do with mostly Jr. department clothing, which is about all that fits my short and skinny frame! :) I find the AN website helpful when looking for ideas and brands/companies that are petite friendly. I hope the forum is equally helpful as well (I'm sure it is...I just need to lurk some more!)

So my best friend introduced me to this site. I must admit it was a little depressing. I am 5'1" and 127 lbs. I feel skinny and can still fit in size 2 pants, but this site makes me feel a little plus sized. Are there some other non zero girls here? My style heroes are the Kardashians because they too have booty. :P

Hi Cheerbuddy!

LOL, I assure you, you are most definitely far from plus sized! :D There are actually quite a few ladies on the forum who are not size 0, and I hope more women of different sizes join up! There's an unusually high concentration of itty bittys on here because my blog is about my shopping adventures as 4'11", 00P, so a lot of women about my size have found the site. But the forum is more about general fit, and I hope it will be of good use to women of all shapes and sizes. Welcome!

Ditto what AN said. Regardless of size, everyone is here to help each other out and find great style. If you have fit/sizing/alterations questions, I'm sure someone here will have an answer :D

Welcome!

ps. Be thankful you never have to deal with the horrors of saggy butt pants ;)

I am not actually petite (hope that's ok), but I've always had a very difficult time finding clothes due to my small-boned, stick-straight frame and it's been such a relief stumbling onto this site. Living in the Northeast, I've puttered around in large-ish coats because Macy's doesn't stock sizes below 4 and have set forth almost daily in Threadless t-shirts and one of two pairs of decently fitting jeans. I have been known to wear jeans with immense holes at the knees simply because the thought of trying to find another pair was too disturbing. However, as I am finishing graduate school and approaching 30, it's dawned on me that this uniform cannot last forever and I need to start dressing more appropriately for someone my age/position. And that is when my troubles really began. As many of you understand, what fits at the waist (a miracle in and of itself) does not fit at the hip, thighs or anywhere else. I have no bust to speak of and have gradually learned which kinds of necklines to stay away from. I have the most problem finding pants and recently became slightly emotional over a pair of size 00 BR pants because they actually fit. I've been afraid to venture away from BR because trying things on was such an ordeal when I first started shopping around; I am hoping to get tips from the other small-boned gals here. What is most frustrating for me personally is not being allowed to complain to any of my friends about sizing because apparently being thin is everyone's ultimate goal even if you have nothing to wear as a result.

Thanks for letting me vent, I am happy to have discovered this community even though I am not vertically small...

Hi there!

I am a 31 year old from NYC. I currently work at a nonprofit which means I don't have to worry so much about the career work wear. The downside is that I'm super lazy about shopping and dressing and often wear jeans and a random t-shirt to the office. I think I'm still wearing the same clothes I bought in high school. *sigh* Anyway, I would *love* to get new clothes but I am discouraged by the way things fit. I have a non-petite torso and can fit into a regular XS in women's. I figure this is because of my wide shoulders. However, my sub-A chest prevents me from actually fitting into most XS shirts properly. I have short stubby legs which are a 27.5" inseam and I can fit into a 25-26 or size 0 pants. I'm obsessed about my inseam because nothing comes in a 28" inseam and I'm too lazy to get clothes altered. Plus my wide feet make it impossible for me to wear heels on a regular basis.

Thanks for feeling my pain.

STATS:
Height: 5'1.5"
Weight: About 99 lbs but fluctuates from 96 lbs to 102 lbs
Inseam: 27.5"
Bra Size: 32-34AA
Clothing Size: 28" inseam on pants or 25-26 waist depending on brand. XS in shirt size. Size 0 in dresses.
Shoe Size: Size 6 feet but WIDE! I hate this so much because I can never find comfortable small shoes for wide feet. I stick with my Converses for now.

Hello Everyone!

I am 25 years old and will be graduating college in three months. I am more nervous about finding clothes to wear to work than I am about actually finding a job. I own one 00P pencil skirt from Ann Taylor Loft that fits, two pairs of 00P Marissa pants from Ann Taylor Loft that are amusingly too large, and two pairs of Guess jeans size 23 that I had taken in at the waist and hemmed. I have managed to find a couple of decent fitting tops from Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft. My problem with finding tops that fit is, I wear a 30DD bra and my waist is 22.5-23 inches. For the past year or so I have pretty much given up finding clothes that fit like they should..until I ran across this blog. I am very skeptical about ordering clothes online because they never fit, but I have been reading all of the blogs and forums on here and I think I am ready to shop again! ha :)

My measurements:

Height: 5'2'
Weight: 87-90 pounds (currently. I gain and lose daily)
Bust: 32 inches
Waist: 22.5 inches - 23 inches
Hip: 28 inches
Thigh: 17.5 inches
Calf: 12 inches
Inseam: 30 inches
Shoe: 6 or 6.5 Narrow

Hi Everyone.
I'm so excited to be a part of this community. I blog about personal finance at http://meinmillions.blogspot.com, but I love shopping! I also have a blog where I track my grocery deals and freebies at http://meindeals.blogspot.com/. So you can see that I'm all about getting the most bang for my buck. I hate getting things altered, so I am looking forward to finding more fashion that fits off the rack (something that is sometimes possible for me!) at a good price point.

Anyway, I'm 27, but often get mistaken for a teenager (grr!). I'm on a mission to find clothes that fit properly and don't make me look like I'm a teen.
