By any chance, does anyone know of a good tailor in Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

I can't seem to find any with many reviews on yelp here. Any suggestions on finding a tailor? I'm a little nervous about taking something to a tailor without knowing for sure they will do fine with my suit. I only have the one. Thanks! :)

Hi

I need a tailor in Boston - I live in Cambridge (between central/harvard square) and work near MGH - I don't have a car so I can't really get out to suburbs.

I have 2 silk dresses (though I'd be happy to start with something else less important) that I need altering in a somewhat significant way.

Would love some good recommendations!
Thanks
Zoe

I realize this is pretty old, but I've taken a few things to Alterations by Tam on River/Oracle. They've done hems, taken the shoulders up on some pieces and slimmed the sides/sleeves of a dress. It's all come out pretty well. Cash only.

I tried out Isabel's Alterations in Ellicott City, MD. She did very nice work, but it was expensive. She charged $65 to slim a suit jacket, and $50 to hem a silk dress. I also had a dress slimmed and the shoulders taken in for $85. Most of her business is wedding dresses, and she seems to have the only shop in the area (which is in the basement of her home, but very clean and organized with a nice changing room and everything) so she can get away with charging more. I'll likely be taking more items to her in the future.
