My coat search is over! I have found a petite-friendly coat that will keep me warm this winter! I never thought I would find my coat in the DKNY brand, but I guess I've just never looked before. This particular coat is considered mid-length and is sooo great for us proportion-wise - I measured the length from collar down - not quite 31 inches in size XS. For reference, I wear XXSP, 00P, or 0P. I found it while shopping at Marshall's, but you can also get it at Overstock.com in all different sizes and either in black or brown. Here are the stock photos on Overstock.com:

I daresay the coat looks better on me than it does on the model! Here is how it fits:

Notice the angled flap closure! It is exactly the type of unique detail I was looking for that I actually found in the Soia and Kyo Regina wool coat but in a down coat instead! I also love that the a-line shape doesn't go overboard.

They call this "satin," but in reality, the material is thankfully not as shiny as in the stock photos. It also doesn't have fur lining the hood, which I prefer. Instead, there is a black plush (furry) all along the inside of the hood and in the inside of the collar. The sleeves have three snap buttons each. Not sure why they included this detail, since I don't think I will need to vent that part. lol We will see whether that becomes a disadvantage in the cold of winter. There is no fleece gator on the sleeve hem, but I will probably be wearing gloves anyway.

Since I will be keeping this coat, please ask me any questions about measurements, etc if you are interested in getting one yourself!

That coat looks great on you!
I've been on the hunt for a decent down coat for weeks now but always failed..
I just received a Calvin Klein coat that I ordered online, but it's horrible! I look like I'm wearing a huge garbage bag :|
I was so frustrated that I had to go searching for a coat again, but after seeing this on you I'm considering just ordering this one.
I also noticed that you and I are the same height/weight :D

Do you think the quality of the jacket is good? Is it really warm? And are you still comfortable in the XS even when wearing a sweater underneath? How is the sleeve length? Also, are there any pockets on the inside of the jacket?

Thanks, jisoonoelle! I believe the quality is pretty good. I've been looking at down coats from different brands for weeks now and there are telltale signs of shoddiness like loose threads and feathers coming out. This coat has none of those problems and feels pretty good to the touch. I also forgot to mention that there is plush in the pockets too. That is pretty cool. There is no inside pocket, which is the only thing I wish they had included.

I got the coat yesterday, so unfortunately, I can't say whether it's warm. It's so crazy to say this in mid-November, but it's still too warm to wear a coat in NYC! In the pics, I had on a long sleeve undershirt and a thin sweater over that. It felt comfortable and not tight. I don't own any heavy sweaters so unfortunately I can't test that out for you. I think if I wanted to, I could also fit in a thin vest on top of the sweater and still be fine (I'm not talking a puffy down vest - I mean a thin plush vest from like Old Navy). The sleeves are not going to take more than a thin sweater, so a vest would be the way to go if you wanted to layer up. Or, you may want to size up to an S for more room. I like how the XS looks on me, so I will work with it and use a vest if I need to.

I just measured my arms - from the armpit to the wristbone, I'm 19 inches. When I have the coat on, the sleeves hide the back of my hand and hit just where my four long fingers start. I prefer this length since it means the sleeves still hide my wrist when I bend my arms.

Hope that helps and feel free to ask more questions!

Wow thanks for all the info! I'll definitely consider giving this coat a try.
And I get what you mean about the warm weather...
I live in the NYC/NorthJersey area, and today I wore only a t-shirt and blazer and I was totally fine.

Thanks again :D

jisoonoelle - You'll be happy to know that I found a hidden inner chest pocket on this coat today! It is on the right side and seems to be pretty deep. Woohoo!
