Lula Lu Lingerie is introducing AAA cup bras. Doesn't come on 28 or 30 band sizes, though. Are there really a lot of women who are legitimately AAA? Or do many of them THINK they're AAA (say, 36AAA) when they're really 32A?

Hm...I have never actually owned a legitimate 32 AA, but I know that a 32A is too big in the cups. I've done all the measuring and I really am a 32, but I have never been able to fill an A cup at all. I am pretty small (I can go without a bra and noticed one day when I was sprinting through the house to get to the phone that I apparently don't need much support for high impact activities like running). I wonder if I could pull off the AAA. Maybe I will try on out if they come in my size.

I don't believe in the add five inches to the band size nonsense because I'd be like a 34AA if I did that.

If there's one thing I've learned, especially from being a part of this community, is to never question "is there really anyone THAT small?", because the answer is probably "yes".

Actually, according to a contact of mine who works at a boutique lingerie shop, 36AAA is quite rare for grown women and is not that "small" as it is "flat" (sorry, those were her words, not mine. She didn't know how else to describe it!!!). The question isn't really "is there really anyone THAT small" but "are many of these women LEGITIMATELY that size, since most of us wear an incorrect bra size."

It's probably possible, but considering most women wear the wrong size (bands too big and cups too small), most of these women are probably also wearing the wrong size. I mean before I found TLBC, I was trying to wear 32AAs from Victoria's Secret and my boobs only half filled the cup. So in that band size, the smallest they had at the time, I would have been a 32AAA.

My mom is almost totally flat-chested, and she's gained weight recently so her ribcage is about 32" around. 32AA is just right for her, and some are too big. Some women have almost no breast tissue compared to their frame size.
However: IME (bra-fitting has become a hobby of mine) the vast majority of women are wearing too-loose bands and too-small cups. I have no doubt that there are many women wearing AAs and AAAs who would be better served by A, B, C, D cups in smaller band sizes.

I absolutely agree with this statement. For a long time, I was one of these women, until I realized I was actually a 30B, and not a "not-quite-32A". I have a cousin that wears a 34AA (her mom told me that its what she wears), and I look at my cousin and I think, she is *so NOT* a 34AA.

YES - I used PetiteXXS's post here http://www.petitexxs.com/2010/06/tlbc-how-to-find-your-proper-bra-size.html and found that I am ACTUALLY a 28C or 30B! I've been wearing 34B!! Talk about way off! No wonder it gaps.
